About Spencer P Jones

Spencer Jones is a journeyman Australian musician with a career that spans nearly 30 years. First gaining prominence in the early to mid 80s as the lead singer and guitar player of Sydney cow punk band, The Johnnys. Often compared to The Gun Club, The Johnnys were a highly unique mashup of punk rock and country music.

After the demise of The Johnnys, Spencer moved on to form of Australia's most legendary rock and roll bands, The Beasts of Bourbon. A band that only exists in fits and starts, the Beasts have earned an almost mythical reputation for their unparalleled, unadorned, unaffected, booze and sweat-fueled live shows.

In addition to the Beasts, Spencer Jones also worked extensively with Paul Kelly and produced albums for a variety bands including Sixfthick. He has also released several solo albums for Spooky Records in Melbourne
